05. Inspiration
Willow House is a boutique nature retreat in West Texas, just outside of Big Bend National Park. The property has 12 casitas on 287 acres with unobstructed views of the Chisos Mountains. Its founder, Lauren Werner, is leading concept and design on Oxido Sedona with Willow House as its guide.
High-Design with Communal Offerings
Willow House was one of the first projects in the United States to introduce the marriage of high-end design and communal spaces. Lauren drew inspiration from South American family haciendas which now function as small hotels and Texas ranching compounds that serve as entertaining destinations for friends and family.
Lauren recognized the value that a communal ‘Main House’ can bring to a travelers’ overall experience when visiting a recreational or remote area. At Willow House, the ‘Main House’ is a stand-alone building, generous in size and detached from all guest quarters. It is a luxurious yet comfortable space for guests to cook, relax, swap stories about their favorite hikes, mix a cocktail, play games, grab a book from the library, and build a fire.
Friends, family members or guests use the communal kitchen, dining and lounge spaces as the hub of their stay, connecting with others, prepping for their adventures or simply relaxing after a day off-property.
